Real Estate!!! A Real threat to the Indian Economy

Real Estate!!! A Real threat to the Indian Economy

It was a dusky evening, I came back home after a tiresome day in office with frustration and agony. The Finance department gave me a Bill that I had to pay close to Rs.15, 000 towards tax. Mumbling and grumbling I entered the house. It was of course a lot of money for any middle level s/w developer who make around Rs. 20,000 per month as take home. Calculations were running across the mind to tighten the expenses. Credit Card Bills, Mobile Phone Bill, Health Insurance Bills, Petrol expenses were all inevitable. Upon any calculation the remaining money goes to around 2 k or 3 K as negative balance. This time I had no other go; I had to ask my father for money as debt and promised to pay him back the immediate next month. It was not an insult to ask him but a matter of pride. Quite a lot of questions came up about my expense and my savings. Almost 2 yrs now, I still don’t have any saving against my name. I had to admit (surrender). Tax saving and investment plans was all about it. Opinions turned into Suggestions and suggestions into advices. It was like well and planned a unanimous choice from all at home.

“A NEW HOUSE”

I was kind of skeptical about the idea because I know it’s a long time burden. Housing loans are generally for 15 to 20 years. But it was a sensible idea too if one has to plan for a long term investment.

Just another Funny one! Hope you enjoy it

English was never my cup of tea. I wasn’t great with it. Novels and Stories books never interested me. It was all about picture gazing. Lesser the pictures the more boring it was.

But in the resent times, unknowingly I started liking it for some reason. I learnt, it was an art to use the right word in the right place. Mastering it was almost close to impossible. . New words, Pronunciations were really interesting. I still secretly maintain a file and note down every time I hear a new word. My friend Sangamithra helped me improve my vocabulary with a great deal. I had this passion for writing emails. I love it. I was very poor with my Spellings. So I usually type them out in MS word and then paste them on my emails, worst case I do it on chat too.

I never liked the SMS lingoes, and I strictly don’t use them. Words like “U”, “ne”, “Y” always pissed me off. Oflate I came across a mail from my cousin that really caught my eye. Its nice to read.

Here goes my Reply

Hi Ms.P,

That was awesome. You have simply feasted on the mail. It was packed with suspense, puzzles and thrillers.

Suspense is on each sentence I read, you keep the reader guessing all the time. Your "Fill in the Blanks" was really tough and tricky. Sentences like "She was like…..", "So I was like…….", "k…….." and "bye……." are the best of all.

I wanted to congratulate you on the mail last night itself but dozed of counting the number of dots ("k…….."), Question marks ("wat?????????"), exclamatory Marks ("pavi!!!!!!!!!!!!!") and your ever lasting smile (":-))))))))))))))))") on your mail.

I thought, only when a group of alphabets put together as words make sense. This is amazing, I am proved wrong. Letters like "K Y N R C U I M A" conveyed so much, I am afraid even the best of the dictionaries would not be able to explain them.

You are the best. I think you have company Mr.Pk and Mr.GP are also in the same league.

Keep going.

Ok. I was just kidding you all the way through. That was a nice mail and a showcase of your innocence. I really enjoyed it.

Regards,

Nostalgic moments

A truly nostalgic mail. I don’t think the mail needs any introduction to it

Dear all,

It's been almost 2year since I have been with photon; life in Photon was always tough, competitive and exciting. I joined photon as a hatchling out of the shell. Any thing I saw was new and exciting. I learnt new languages on both technical and verbal front. Buzz words and fizz words were all about it. You can hardly hear something like "Hi and how are you"; it was always "dude", "wattzzup", "cool", "no issues" and stuff. Anything you do/learn will make you feel good.

Troubleshooting, Conference calls, personal Email account, unlimited/unrestricted browsing and night outs were all thrilling and exciting.

Photon was a very small group when I joined. Everyone had their share of say in any decisions the management made or at least I felt it that way. It makes you feel special when you are able to raise your voice for/against any new proposals, and you feel even more special when someone acknowledges it. Photon never had hierarchical structure. The COO was always easily accessible. Team lunch, team dinner was something that is always common and thrilling. More than the get-togethers, it was always about the new Star hotels you go to. Booze and night clubs have never interested me, though Photon was more into Night life and Saturday night parties.

I had to manage a project all by myself. It was a mammoth task. The guy who transitioned it to me was 3yrs experienced and was an expert. I felt like I was lost in the woods blind folded when I first took it up! I was new to real time environment, new responsibilities, and problem handling. Weekly conference calls were nightmares. Weekly project plans, Stand up meeting, Production build and trouble shooting always got on my nerves. Handling a project single handedly was interesting but slowly turned out to be a real pain. After a great deal I was moved out and was handling 3 different projects, it was a great learning curve and a good exposure to technology and people.

Photon has taught me just more than what I wanted. I still love Photon and I am happy the way it has taught me things.

But as we know all humans (like myself J ) tend to get too comfortable and wish to see what else is in offer in the outside world. And as luck would have it I got an offer from HP Last month. This meant to me not a better opportunity rather a change from the current one.

I submitted my resignation the very same day to get relieved at the earliest. I know almost all of you know this already. I was surprised myself at the speediness of my actions but I took this as an urge to look forward to newer things.

That's about it.

Hope to be excused if I have missed out any of you and consider this mail as my formal announcement about the offer.

With Love,
NaveenChander
